水母也睡觉 研究:为修复神经元DNA

(特拉维夫13日综合电)水母和海葵这些原始动物虽无大脑、仅有简单的神经网络,可是同样表现出规律的睡眠行为。

一项最新研究发现,它们每天约8小时的“睡眠”,并非偶然,或具有重要的进化意义。它们的睡眠可能是为了保护神经元而进化出来的,能修复动物清醒时积累的神经元中脱氧核糖核酸(DNA)损伤。

以色列巴尔伊兰大学在内的机构研究人员日前在英国《自然-通讯》杂志发表论文说,他们分析了倒立水母和星状海葵的情况,这两种较简单的动物拥有原始的神经系统,神经元呈网络分布,不存在中枢神经。研究人员将它们行为静止、保持特有姿势、不易受外界刺激影响的状态视为睡眠。

研究结果显示,无论在实验室环境还是自然栖息地,倒立水母都主要在夜间进入睡眠状态,并在中午进行短暂小睡,每天的睡眠时间约8小时,睡眠模式会受到环境光暗变化的影响。相比之下,星状海葵的睡眠则主要集中在黎明前后,每天同样需要约8小时睡眠,且更明显受自身生物钟调控。

分析还表明,两种动物的神经元DNA损伤总是在清醒时增加、睡眠时减少。<\/p>\n\n\n\n

研究人员用紫外线诱发DNA损伤,发现这些动物会通过增加睡眠时间来应对,说明它们通过睡眠来提供专门的时间窗口。<\/p>\n\n\n\n
