（北京讯）现年37岁谢苗年幼时因热爱武术，身手相当敏捷，1993年曾与电影《新少林五祖》剧中饰演李连杰的儿子，两年过后，与李连杰再度结缘拍戏，并且《给爸爸的信》剧中还是饰演父子，因而拥有“李连杰御用儿子”之称，在当时成为家喻户晓的童星。
1994年，谢苗和周润发曾合作电影《赌神2》和《小飞侠》，讨喜的古灵精怪与天生反骨的个性角色，让他受到许多观众的肯定与喜爱，11岁的他就已拥有高度的知名度。
当时，谢苗的父母考虑是否要让孩子继续往戏剧发展，或是回到教育环境读书并完成学业，最后便询问王晶和周润发。王晶认为这孩子未来前途无量，应该要保握机会，继续留在演艺圈发展下去。
但是，周润发却认为谢苗还年轻，应专心在学业，若错过就难重来一次。于是周润发给了谢苗5000人民币（约3245令吉）的红包，希望他能够好好读书。最后父母决定让孩子回到北京学习，并推掉所有戏剧邀约，在2006年谢苗完成大学学业后，以武术演员的身分，再次回到演艺圈。
目前谢苗在演艺圈工作以武打演员为主，2014年参与《智取威虎山》的演出，虽然知名度不及从前，仍然继续努力拍戏。目前与老婆何彦霓拥有一个可爱女儿，家庭生活相当幸福美满。
