（马德里17日综合电）西班牙国会周四通过变更法律性别的法案，也同时立法为女性提供月经期间最多5天的带薪假，成为欧洲首个通过生理假的国家。
不仅如此，未来16到17岁之未成年人，也可在不经父母同意下进行堕胎手术，而有关月经和避孕的卫生用品，也将免费在高中发放。
周四“为月经不调的妇女提供月经假”的法案，以185票赞成、154票反对获得通过。西班牙左翼政府曾表示，该法案旨在打破人们在这个问题上的禁忌。目前只有少数国家提供月经假，例如日本、印尼和赞比亚。
根据西班牙妇产科协会的数据，三分之一的妇女有严重痛经的经历。配套措施还包括在学校、监狱和妇女中心免费提供卫生用品，以解决“经期贫困”。
西班牙平等部长蒙特罗周四在国会的演讲中称，“这是女权主义取得进步的历史性一天”，并指此举向解决很大程度上被扫进地毯下的健康问题迈进了一步。
该法律意味着，如果有医生的证明，西班牙政府将给予患有严重经期疼痛的女性带薪病假。立法赋予经历痛经的员工根据需要有尽可能多的休息时间，并通过国家社会保障体系支付带薪的月经假，而非雇主。
