为省下卫生棉开销 小提琴手 禁食停经
（吉隆坡9日讯）为了减轻月经期间购买卫生棉的开销，小提琴手恩当海德（Endang Hyder）被迫禁食，干扰月经周期。
恩当育有3名孩子，过去每月花60令吉购买品质较好的卫生棉，以避免皮肤过敏，而且每3个小时就更换一次。
她在部落格贴文中说，大概在去年7月，她意识到必须减少个人开销，才能应付父母亲与孩子的膳食费，于是她改用价格比较便宜的卫生棉，每月只需花费大约15令吉。
恩当海德在部落格贴文，透露她为了减轻购买卫生棉的负担，而以禁食方式干扰月经周期。
“15令吉对一些人来说，可能是一笔小数目，但对当时的我来说，15令吉就可以买一只小的鸡，够我们一家吃4天。”
恩当说，疫情之前，一家六口的生活舒适，没有面对经济问题，但是，政府在去年宣布实施行动管制令后，所有现场演出被迫停止，她的生计也受到影响，父亲的健康也开始出问题。
由于曾有饮食失调的经历，她想到可以通过禁食来干扰月经的周期，间接减少卫生棉的开销。
“这不但可以省钱，而且还可以把我原本要吃的那一份分给家人。”
对于有人以怀孕的方式避免月经的问题，恩当表明可以理解。
“长短期而言，她们用意好的，因为……卫生棉很贵。她们可以把省下来的钱，为家人购买更好的食物。”
政府在2022年财政预算案中，通过国家人口及家庭发展局将与监狱局合作，每个月向13万名B40群体青少女，免费提供基本个人卫生用品包，包括卫生棉。
