《法新社》报导，一股来自巴塔哥尼亚的冷风导致首都布宜诺斯艾利斯的气温，从上周日（2月12日）的38.1摄氏度高位，下降到周四（16日）的7.9摄氏度。这是自1951年以来，阿根廷2月份的最低温纪录。
阿根廷经历过的最低温是1910年的4.2摄氏度。
在短短5天内，布宜诺斯艾利斯的街道从阳光普照变得阴暗，人们也从汗流浃背到穿上外套保暖。
气象学家格拉瓦利亚说，这种“极端多变”的天气，可能是受到强烈的拉尼娜现象影响。
他说，拉尼娜现象导致空气和土壤比平时更干燥，这使得温度波动更加极端。
