麦克艾斯纳和弗兰克维尔斯，早前分别在华纳兄弟（Warner Bros）和派拉蒙影业（Paramount）担任高层，迪士尼一开始其实想招揽弗兰克维尔斯，但他听闻派拉蒙影业可能会有重大人事调整，主动向迪士尼推荐麦克艾斯纳。
迪士尼市值飙高至1247亿
在两人加入后，迪士尼的市值在10年间从14亿美元（约62亿令吉）飙高至280亿美元（约1247亿令吉），并崛起为跨越电影、电视和主题公园的大型传媒帝国。
麦克艾斯纳将两人的合作模式解读为“盒子理论”，意指在有限的资源中，透过强而有力的伙伴，从而创造无限伟大的梦想。
“更重要的是，你们要彼此喜欢对方，才能打消自负与自傲。这样别人也无法介入挑拨离间。”
不过，随着弗兰克维尔斯在1994年因直升机意外去世，麦克艾斯纳在后来与罗伯特艾格尔等人合作，却再也找不到另一位“最佳拍档”，最后更令自己辛辛苦苦建立起的迪士尼王国重陷危机。
