（华盛顿18日综合电）美国军方承认，上月底对阿富汗首都喀布尔的无人机空袭，造成当地10名平民不幸死亡，其中包括7名儿童。
中央司令部司令麦肯齐承认错误，就此致歉，考虑向遇难者家属作出赔偿。
麦肯齐周五透过视讯出席美国国防部新闻简报，指经调查评估，美军当时袭击的汽车及死难者，都不太可能与极端组织“伊斯兰国”（IS）阿富汗分支有关联，也不会对美军构成直接威胁。此次袭击是一个“悲剧性错误”，他对此表示道歉，并承担全部责任。
他说，这起空袭计划原先是针对IS的行动，因为美国情报机构确信，武装分子计划攻击喀布尔机场。
美国防部长奥斯汀亦向遇难者家属道歉，致以最深切哀悼，并从这个可怕的错误中汲取教训。他已要求重新审视美国中央司令部的相关调查，以评估调查信息的完整性及问责。
美国中央司令部8月29日表示，美军无人机当天在喀布尔对一辆汽车进行空袭，解除了“伊斯兰国”阿富汗分支对喀布尔机场的威胁。
