美国南加州一位男警察瓦尔迪维亚（Jeff Valdivia）22年前从毒窟中救出了一名女婴，22年后这位女婴长大了，并且成为一位警察，她特定邀请当年改变她命运的瓦尔迪维亚参加警校毕业典礼，并且为她别上警徽。
2000年的11月还是新晋警员的瓦尔迪维亚，接受上级命令前往埃斯孔迪多（Escondido）南部的一个恶名昭彰的“毒屋”，逮捕一名违反假释令者。
瓦尔迪维亚抵达现场后，在房间内发现了6周大的杨（Natalie Young），她身体极度虚弱，躺在母亲旁边，床上放着毒品吸食器，整个房间脏乱不堪。
埃斯孔迪多警局的脸书贴文指出，杨的生母当时年仅17岁，正在毒品问题中挣扎，女婴明显是被忽视的受害者，于是瓦尔迪维亚将她从母亲的身边带走，并且交给相关单位保护监护。
22年后，即将从警校毕业的杨，想让当年拯救她的警官知道自己也成为一名警察，于是邀请瓦尔迪维亚到科罗拉多，亲自为她别上警徽。
埃斯孔迪多警局也在脸书中表示，“恭喜你，杨，欢迎你加入警察这个崇高的职业”。
