（吉隆坡8日讯）随着吉打华玲日前暴雨引发山洪事故，造成3人罹难后，民政党第一时间动员民青团团员，筹集赈灾物资，并于今日启程前往灾区，以帮助陷困灾黎。
民政党主席拿督刘华才说，该党非常同情华玲居民困境，民青团救灾队伍已于今早在代总团长黄佳祯带领下抵达华玲，并将协助灾民清理受山洪影响的房屋和设施，以及分发包括食品和饮料在内的必需品。
此外，民政党吉打主席马力慕都昨日也与吉打土著团结党领袖，一起进入灾区赈灾。
“由于灾情卫生情况不理想，民政党救灾队伍也送入200多公斤水果，希望提高灾民免疫力。”
刘华才今日发文告说，民政党目前正筹措的物资包括白米、即用即弃尿布、饮用水、粮食及旧衣物，欢迎有能力的公众人士慷慨损助，发挥万众一心，大马一家大精神，协助华玲的水灾灾民。
他也促请吉打州政府及相关机构，应检讨应对水灾的不足，并马上作出改善，以加强对人民的帮助。
