（华盛顿5日综合电）美国北卡罗来纳州一名年仅1岁的女童跟着父亲出门上班，结果被父亲留在车子里面，但当时正中午室外温度超过32度，推测车内温度恐高达54度，警方获报赶抵现场时，女童已在车内不治身亡，这也代表美国今年已经有至少9名孩童因车内高温死亡。
北卡罗来纳州梅班市（Mebane）警方在上周五中午12时30分左右接获报案，有人发现一名女童困在车内，当救护人员抵达现场破窗后，女童早已失去呼吸心跳。据了解，这名女童的父亲就在车辆停放处前方的一栋大楼内工作，目前尚不清楚为何女童会被单独留在车内。
气象专家表示，当天中午的室外温度平均达华氏90度（约摄氏32度），依照估算女童受困当下的车内温度恐高达华氏130度（约摄氏54度）。目前梅班警方正在调查整起事件经过，这也代表美国今年已有至少9名孩童因车内高温死亡。
根据数据网站NoHeatStroke.org统计，美国每年平均会有38名15岁儿童因为被关在高温车内身亡。弗吉尼亚州一名年仅1岁半的男童6月底被独留后座长达3小时，当父亲发现时他早已身亡，而过于自责的父亲也因此饮弹自尽。
