（华盛顿10日综合电）许多美国民众接种新冠疫苗之后，生活逐渐回归正常，但对于免疫功能不足(immunocompromised)民众来说，依旧过着足不出户的日子。曾经接受肾脏移植手术的34岁男子林德(Andrew Linder)虽然已经完成新冠疫苗接种，还打了补强针，却没有抗体。
据美国有线电视新闻网(CNN)报导，林德2019年9月接受肾脏移植手术，妻子艾米莉．林德(Emily Linder)为他捐出一枚肾脏。为了避免手术后出现排斥反应，林德付出的代价是终身必须服用免疫抑制剂(immunosuppressants)药物。
2020年3月，美国发生新冠疫情初期，艾米莉顾虑到平常工作当中会接触游民及监狱囚犯，担心把新冠病毒带回家害丈夫遭到传染，因此搬回娘家暂住。

新冠疫苗获得紧急使用授权后，住在俄亥俄州艾克隆(Akron)的林德便接种了两剂辉瑞(Pfizer)疫苗，后来也打了补强针。
林德接受访问时说，原以为生活可以恢复正常，没想到希望却落空。
他指出：“我完完全全没有抗体。这让我很惊讶，也很害怕，当然也觉得生气。”他表示，与疫情初期的心情感觉相比，现在觉得一样不安全，甚至觉得更加不安全，因为自己可能在后疫情时期遭到感染。
根据美国疾病管制暨预防中心(CDC)统计，全美约有900万民众为中度或重度免疫功能不足患者，约占整体人口的3%。这些患者包括因为癌症或肿瘤而正接受治疗的病患、器官移植患者、骨髓移植患者、爱滋病或爱滋病毒(HIV)带原者，以及因为服用高剂量皮质类固醇(corticosteroids)或其他药物，可能导致免疫系统受到抑制的病患。
疾管中心上周公布研究报告指出，免疫功能不足者可能需要施打三剂新冠疫苗，再加上一剂补强针，才能获得像一般民众施打两剂新冠疫苗加一剂补强针的保护效果。
