Netflix生态纪录片《我们的星球（Our Planet）》播出海象跳崖过程，在俄罗斯东北部海岸上，只见数百只海象全挤在悬崖边，一不小心都可能坠下丧命，而有些海象甚至直接跳下来，让人看得非常心痛，这也让人非常不解，为何生活在海冰的海象，会全挤在悬崖边。
生物学家艾登堡（Sir David Attenborough）表示，随着地球暖化，导致海冰被融化，使海象栖息空间越来越小，它们无奈之下，只能跑到陆地上生活，而由于陆地空间非常小，为了不被踩伤，不少海象也被逼上悬崖求生，但由于悬崖上完全没食物，这使得海象们非常饥饿。
海象因此想回到海里，再加上它们视力差，导致根本不清楚身处何地，导致不少海象从80公尺悬崖跳下，而岸边也全是伤残或死亡的海象，而《我们的星球》导演兼制片人兰菲尔(Sophie Lanfear)在过程中，也数次惊恐的捂住嘴，甚至落下难过的眼泪，提到这是她的职涯中，见过最痛苦的场景。
